Prepare before you reach out

You do not need to have every print detail figured out before contacting a printer.

But the clearer your starting information is, the easier it will be for them to recommend the right production method, paper or material, finishes and pricing.

What to know about your project

Prepare the basics:

• What are you printing?
• What is the final size?
• How many copies do you need?
• Is it single-sided or double-sided?
• How many pages or panels are involved?
• Is it folded, bound, cut or assembled?
• Where will it be used?
• Does it need to be shipped?
• Is there a specific deadline?

Think about the material

You don’t need to know the exact stock yet, but it helps to know what kind of result you want.

For example:

• Smooth or textured
• Coated or uncoated
• Light or heavy
